Case study : Your Nature

An eco-responsible collaboration

In a world where environmental challenges are increasingly crucial, companies that integrate sustainable and eco-friendly practices into their projects stand out. It is in this spirit that Solar Forest, a company specializing in the construction of photovoltaic parks using wooden structures, collaborated with Your Nature, an eco-resort committed to environmental protection. This article explores this exemplary collaboration, detailing Your Nature's eco-responsible approach and Solar Forest's innovative methods.

Your Nature's ecological commitment

Your Nature places respect for nature at the heart of its values and ecotourism vision. Their Eco-Resort and eco-lodges project was guided by a desire to minimize environmental impact. To achieve this, Your Nature designed its accommodations without tree destruction, excavation, or ground disturbance, and without altering telluric currents or natural water circulation. The resort is nestled in a natural setting of 280 hectares of forest, including 18 hectares of lakes, and benefits from an exceptional microclimate.

Your Nature's energy management is equally exemplary. Photovoltaic energy is used to power the park's electricity consumption and electric vehicles circulating within. Surplus energy is fed back into the public grid, contributing significantly to reducing the carbon footprint. Residents move around on foot, by bicycle, or in electric vehicles, and dining spaces prioritize local and seasonal products.

Solar Forest's involvement

To sustainably meet Your Nature's energy needs, Solar Forest constructed solar carports using peeled and processed logs from raw wood, including cut, debarked, and braced trunks. The wood used is Douglas fir, a naturally durable and resistant species suitable for outdoor applications. The choice of Douglas fir ensures optimal robustness for outdoor use.

The woods used by Solar Forest are PEFC-certified, guaranteeing responsible and sustainable forest management. After processing, the woods undergo autoclave treatment, providing increased resistance to fungi and insects. Classified as Class 4 wood, these products are suitable for outdoor use and can be in direct contact with the ground, thereby increasing the longevity of the structures and reducing the need for frequent replacement.

Solar Forest's final project for Your Nature is impressive in its scope and positive environmental impact. With 163 m³ of wood used, 1000 kWp of installed capacity, covering 237 parking spaces, and including 2800 photovoltaic panels, this project perfectly illustrates how an eco-responsible and innovative approach can meet energy needs while respecting nature.
